I usually frequent the Hospitality & Detonate rave nights and they are absolutely fantastic. Great atmosphere and I’ve never had any trouble with the bouncers, the drink prices can be a little expensive but The Plug compared to other clubs around the country is fantastic value for money and a quality night out. And its only a 10 minute walk from the station, ideal for catching an early ride home!

Great atmosphere and some really good nights on. Had some fantastic drum and bass sessions there. Also has a superb smoking area, the drinks can be expensive but generally a great place for a night out.

I have attended a few different nights in this venue and found it to be too hot, packed out and the bouncers to be a bit over the top. However, when I have attended Planet Zogg, I have had nothing but praise for all involved including the amazing bouncers that seem to frequent the same night. Expensive drinks but a good night if you fancy a variety of room choices with yours music.

Student venue, cheap, dirty and can get lost very easily. Ceilings very low, you can tell it is just an uninspiring old industrial shed. Always packed though, with a good atmosphere.

The Plug is almost always worth checking out if you’re in the mood for a memorable night out for a decent price. The venue has amazing artists, from Asian Dub Foundation to Natty, which always draw a great crowd of people from all walks of life, who come together to create a buzzing atmosphere.

A lovely little venue that hosts some great bands and great club nights. always something for everyone and the bar staff are nice too which is always a plus :-)

A big, cavernous nightclub. Has numeros different events from live bands to DJ sets. Always very busy, some nights the entrance fee can be a little expensive and the bouncers(pretty much like anywhere) can be fussy at times. I’ve managed to get lost in there several times which is always fun when drunk. If it’s playing your sort of music then there are many worse venues.

A good place to go music wise as it has a good variety on both club nights and gig nights. The atmopshere at the club is great though it can get very crammed in soom rooms at times. Inside its quite dingy and grim and the drinks are extortionate. Worth going for the atmosphere, but prepare for an empty wallet after.

A good venue for club nights and gigs alike. Closeness to stage is great if you want to get up close to acts. The bar is huge and always fully staffed — never a problem getting served.

A good live venue to see the smaller bands. However, some of the club nights that are on offer don’t seem to be as good.

I don’t rate Plug at all as a night club. I don’t like the layout of the venue. I find the security rude. The drinks are over priced and there’s not enough offers on. The lighting is also dismal. But it’s also one of the few clubs we have in the city that plays host to different types of music including pop, house, drum ‘n’ bass, trance, indie and rock, etc. I’ve had some great times at live gigs there and it’s probably the best Sheffield city centre has to offer as a venue for bigger bands, although I haven’t been to the new Carling Academy yet. Plug also has a large outdoor smoking area which is good for having a fag and being able to hear yourself think and talk to people. I personally wouldn’t go for anything other than live music but I’d recommend it to anyone wanting a good night out dancing when there’s no alternative!

Oh I’ve had some messy nights at Plug over the years. It’s an awesome night out, even if it’s not the classiest place in the world. On a Thursday, the big room plays cheese and is uncomfortably packed(I never fail to get trodden on by some girl’s stilettos) and the small room plays indie. Stick to the Indie room — it’s better, and the bar is easier to get to. They get some good gigs in there, and have NME nights too.
