I really love this place and its normally the place I go for dinner on Christmas eve. I have been for about three years on thr un now and have never been let down. The food is always intresrting and local and the staff are always helpful and lovely. Even on very busy night like the nights I go you still are not waiting around for your food. The cocktails are very good, I always finish my meal with one. They are doing some great tea based cocktails at the moment!

One of the best places to eat in Sheffield, it is worth the extra effort to get to The Milestone. Great food, friendly service and an all-round good eating experience await you at this little gem. I came here for a late Saturday lunch and we were warmly welcomed by a cheery but not over-the-top waiter. The service here is clean and slick but it doesn’t cross over into being too snooty and stand offish. And then there’s the food — hearty dishes with interesting flavour combinations and quality ingredients. The chefs here know how to combine flavours to create amazing food that makes you smile. I had panfried coley with potatoes, broccoli and butter beans. I wanted more. The fish was perfectly cooked and the butter beans were a great addition adding a Mediterranean hit. The serving sizes are well proportioned — enough to feel satisfied yet leaving space for dessert. I was a little disappointed with my dessert but purely due to my choice from the menu. I was trying to avoid eating very rich things as I was running a marathon the next day and so I didn’t choose the chocolate option which would have been my normal first choice. Instead I went for the rhubarb and cox apple item thinking it might be a bit like a crumble. It was Heston on a plate with foams and sorbet and jellies and blobs. It was very light and the flavours were interesting although it was a little tart and sour. My sister in law chose the chocolate option which looked REALLYGOOD. I guess I just have reason to go back. The restaurant is cozy and would be a great place for a romantic dinner or dinner with family. As this Kelham Island precinct grows and develops, I can see the tables at The Milestone becoming very hot property.

Nice atmosphere, out of the city centre and around a couple of other really good pubs for a pre or post dinner pint. Seasonal food so menu changes frequently. Have found it to be somewhat inconsistent in terms of portion size and quality but regardless it’s a must stop in Sheffield.

Had a lovely meal here. Really nicely decorated. Both excellent food and service. Everything you could ask for in a restaurant and would recommend anyone to give this place a try.

This little gem is a tucked away from the mainstream that can be found This little gem is tucked away from the mainstream to be found on West Street but don’t let that put you off. From the outside it looks smart and modern and this theme carries on once through the front door. Is gives of a nice cosy glow and there is a few seats downstairs with the restaurant upstairs. The bar is right at the back and offers a good range of drinks with real ales to cocktails.(cocktail menus can be found on tables etc). Bar prices are average leaning on the top side for drinks. The food is excellent. There is a good range of meals and each one sounding mouth wateringly tasty. The prices aren’t too bad for the quality of food that is available. The staffs are friendly and charming and keep the place looking clean and tidy. Well worth a visit, there are a few pubs near by to make a night of in this area.

The regeneration of the Kelham Island area of Sheffield is really exciting. Good, traditional pubs surrounding the old brewery are being refreshed and modernised to cater for the influx of students and professionals to the area. The Milestone isn’t one of these though, this baby’s brand new! Rather than a real ale pub, this a modish bar & restaurant that puts as much emphasis on cocktails or a good G&T than on beer; as such, TM stands apart from its neighbours. This can be a good and a bad thing Kelham Island drinkers usually come for the locally brewed ales, and aren’t so keen on paying extra money to go somewhere smart that’ll sell them sautéed calamari in a white wine, garlic and lemon sauce with a bellini. TM though, gives drinkers a genuine choice, and is a really classy way to finish a Kelham Island pub crawl. The food is superb by the way, and the menu well chosen continental dishes sit nicely beside the hugely popular Sunday Lunch and puddings that have some real thought put in. A visit needn’t break the bank either, when there are offers like 2 for 1 cocktails on a Thursday. Kelham Island Iced Tea anyone?
