Lucky enough to live just a 5 minute walk from one of my favourite restaurants in Sheffield. Thyme has been a regular stop off for over 4 years now. Every guest I have had visit has been brought here! The atmosphere and food is never a disappointment. Sitting in the old church pew seating with my mum, with the Thyme Café fish cake on order, sometimes I wish there was just a little but more room but I guess it just says something for an always busy place! Happy Sunday!

Went here for lunch on a recommendation and it really was fantastic. It was a bit pricey(£12 for a salad, tea(or beer) and main), but the food was as good as it gets and very well portioned. After our«side» caesar salad we were pretty much set, but then had a nice lunch-sized main, too. Service was excellent, though the food took a bit to prepare. No complaints — well worth the wait.

Excellent food! It’s not a cheap place, but if you are looking for carefully prepared food of top quality, that’s it. The service is fine as well. I would have given five stars, but there was lipstick on my beer glass and it wasn’t mine.

This place is so hit and miss it’s scary! My partner went here last Tuseday and said they had the best prawn pasta dish they had ever eaten out in Sheffield. So on Sunday we went for tea. In just under 10 mins we had ordered £50 worth of food and drink… We had a half pint glass of prawns to share(8 prawns = £10) a bucket of bread and oil(dog ends of crust = £3) a salmon dish with herb gnocchi(herbs not included) with peas and wild garlic sauce(garlic not included) and ham hock with poataoes and cider sauce(cider not included) our mains cost us £30 and we did not recieve a complete dish that was listed on the board. The ham hock sauce was single cream with a splash of apple juice i believe and the wild garlic sauce was green and looked and tasted like pureed peas but without the garlic. The fish and the ham were cooked very well and for £16 and £14 a bowl i would expect it too. However this place is as over priced as a ticket touted Olympic games ticket to watch beach volley ball. How they get away with it amazes me. I think it is scandalous to over charge in this way and for the menus to be described as one thing and be delivered as aonther. I therfore declare time out on Thyme of Broomhill. Not impressed.

I went here while traveling abroad. The food was pretty delicious; although, I havent had much English fare to compare it to.

Thyme Café is an up market bistro like eatery on Fulwood Road in Sheffield. Sister to the Thyme Restaurant and expensive but well revered restaurant in Sheffield, Thyme Café offers something a little more special for the shoppers and office workers in the area. Prices are reasonable considering the type of dishes on offer. The lunchtime offer of soup, sandwich and a drink is great value at £10. The drinks on offer with this deal include a large glass of wine for anyone tempted. The food is beautifully presented; each sandwich comes accompanied with a side serving of French fries which delightfully arrive in a small tin bucket.

It’s excellent venue for a good, casual meal. Top quality food, good menu of simple home-cooking, all cooked to order in a nice relaxed environment. Compared to a formal restaurant, prices are good; however it’s not that cheap as an alternative to a pub lunch or café equivalent. The only issue with the place is that it’s so good it’s always busy and you can’t book a table. They will take your name and give you an idea of when to come back so you can have a drink while you wait, but obviously a disadvantage if you’re with a large party or want a guaranteed seating time. I’m a regular patron and would recommend to anyone.
