A nice pub to chill out, hang out with friends, watch games, play pool. Drinks are quite cheap and food is rally nice. I definitely recommend the chocolate fudge cake for greedy people :)

Varsity is a bar on West Street that has karaōke and pool tables, which draws a strong student crowd every weekend. You have to pay on entry many nights, but this can be made cheaper if you buy a Varsity card on the door. A large bar, loud music and nice outside area makes for a perfect place to start the weekend with friends.

Varsity on West Street is everything I hate in a bar. Chain décor, chain cheap and bland drinks, drunken students and no unique atmosphere. The bar itself is situated in a really popular and prominent area of West Street and so gets alot of custom. It’s packed out most weekends and is the place for students and locals who want to get completely hammered before going onto a club. If you’re more discerning and want something more than a carbon copy of many other places across the UK, then I really would steer clear. Having said that, the food is quite good value and so it’s probably suitable for a quick pint and bite to eat during the day. but for other occassions, there are plent of much better and nicer places in Sheffield!

An ideal place to start your pre-club drinking session. Can get busy at times, especially at weekends.
