Henri’s

Been here a few times on family meals. The food is always really nice, and the service is friendly. It is always quite full, so probably best to make a reservation.
While its quite expensive, I would say it’s worth the money!

Over the summer I ate at Henri’s 3 times & had 3 very different experiences.
The first was very pleasurable. The food was delicious. Our waitress was lovely. Our only ‘complaint’ would be that now Henri’s is a restaurant rather than a pub, I had expected a little more from the staff. We weren’t greeted or checked on by the manager, who was milling around the entire time.
The second time was fabulous. The food outstanding. Again, a great waitress and this time we had personal interactions with the manager & the chef also walked through & stopped at our table.
The 3^rd time I found the food to be a little disappointing & we did wait a long time for dessert. We knew the chef this night was different to the 2^nd time.
All in all, lovely décor, good food & I would definitely go back. Hopefully the creases will have been ironed out by then.

Visited Henris very recently for a family Late Christmas get together. The place has been refurbished and now (although it did before) looks very smart, a sort of country cottage chic. There are plenty of covers but not to the detrement of personal space as you get in many modern restaurants. You are not sitting on top of everybody and you feel that your tables conversation is generally confined to your table. The menu is varied and slightly on the above average to pricey side for a pub/​restaurant setting (although it is no longer a pub), with most mains being about £15. 7 people were at the restaurant and in the main everyone really enjoyed their meal, of which most were taken off the specials board. I ordered the 14oz steak and asked for it blue knowing that many restaurants never get blue right and you usually end up with a rare, which is good. However whilst everyone really enjoyed their food, my steak was stringy and a bit fatty and not that enjoyable. The sweet menu was excellent and really delicious. A nice place to visit for more formal or special occassions, and I’m sure I was just unlucky with the steak.
