Awful!
Mediocre chips.
Got a piece of chicken but couldn’t call it more than deep fried bones and skin.
No meat whatsoever.
Could see the shape of the ribs and inside of them. As well as the ribs themselves. Grey and gross.
Avoid.

The mythical orange chips! I used to travel over to Bearwood with a friend of mine just to see if we could get us some of the legendary orange chips. What makes them orange? Something to do with the cholesterol free oil they are cooked in? something to do with them being battered? Are they chips that secretly want to be Broad Street girls? Who knows, but they’re tasty!
Bearwood is littered with fast food takeaways but Lightwoods stands head and shoulders above the rest. It has been around for decades and has constantly kept it’s standards high while maintaining the low price expected from a chippy. It’s not just the chips that are great, all of the food is good quality.
Friendly staff, a clean well kept chippy and the legendary orange chips. Love it!
