i have been going to this chinese for years but after tonight NEVER AGAIN!!! Not only was the food OVER COOKED but when my husband rang them to ask why all 4 rice dishes had no flavour, the chips looked like they had been reheated but instead of appologising the man put the phone down. I then rang back to recieve abuse and the phone put down again without expliantion. after nearly 15yrs of using this place i am happily looking for somewhere else that has heard of customer service and also knows how to cook

Had a couple of takeaways from Magic Chef on Shirley Road and found them fairly average and nothing special. The food is fairly nice, the meat cooked well. but the sauces used were just too watery. This was on Sweet and Sour Chicken and Chicken in Black Bean sauce with egg fried rice.
I haven’t tryed other dishes on the menu though!
The prices were pretty average for takeaway, they do have student discount and delivery didn’t take too long! And they understand you when you phone up to order which is always a big bonus!
Wouldn’t go back unless I had to, there is much better competition locally in shirley and freemantle
