I drove past here earlier and it didn’t look particularly open. Can’t confirm that it is shut yet though.

I ate here with my sister when we looking for somewhere cheap to eat on a Sunday lunchtime. Instead of going for the buffet, we went for a deal on a 3 course lunch. The portions were huge and the food itself was so good. I had spring rolls to start, chicken for main and the dessert is ice-​cream. The service is very good, but then, the restaurant always seems to be close to empty during the day (I can’t comment on the evening). I think there were 2 other tables of people when I was there. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. The food can’t be faulted and the prices are amazing. It’s just a shame that more people haven’t discovered it!

I ate at Bamboo alone during a weeks holiday from work. I decided to do a spot of shopping and saw the advert for the lunch special so decided to try it out. On arrival at about 1pm the restaurant was totally empty. I was seated in a booth facing the sliding door windows. During my time in the
restaurant only one other person came in. Why I do not know as the food was fantastic. I picked the set 3 course lunch for £5.70. I had a large bowl of chicken and sweetcorn soup to start followed by chicken in oyster sauce
with fried rice. For mains you can pick your meat, prawns or tofu and also the sauce. This is then served with either steamed or fried rice. Desert is ice cream. The service was very good (although with an empty restaurant how could it not be!) and the food was lovely. The main course was a huge plate piled high with food and I didn’t have enough room to finish this or have the ice cream. I really don’t understand how this restaurant isn’t busier based on my experience.

This is a lovely little chinese opposite Debenhams by the City Centre.
I have eaten here since it has opened and have also held a 50^th birthday meal here. My 2 workplaces have also had a christmas meal here last year.
There is a al a carte menu as well as a buffet. On all occasions i have opted for the buffet. What i like about the buffet is that the food is made to order. So you pick what you like and they cook it then serve it, so you know your food has not been sat around being reheated.
When i had my mums 50^th birthday party here they went out of there way to make it extra special. I took balloons, decorations and cakes down there earlier in the day and they made sure it was all set out beautifully. As well as this we were able to bring our own champagne and wine and pay a corkage fee which was really cheap.
Even though this chinese is not as grand as pilgrim house i personally like the food much better and this the staff are more attentive.
