We go to Henry Higgins every Friday and recommend them highly, the food is first class, and the staff are friendly polite and can’t do enough for you,
If you love fish and chips then you must try them out, they also serve other lovely food

Huge portions, Mr Higgings, huge I tell you!
Having just completed the mammoth journey from oop north to our new abode, fast food was a must. This chish and fips was near by and open.
2 medium-​sized fish and chips, (cod, fyi), came with a free side, yay! The fish was skin on, which I’ve always thought of being a northern thing, and perhaps wrongly so. The size was massive. The batter was a deep golden colour, and honestly, I’ve had lighter, airy-​er batter. However the fish inside was moist and flakey and tasty. The chips were chunky, golden with the right mix of crispy and soft. I did think that it was a tad expensive, at first, but that was before seeing a battered cod the size of my face! Customer service was a bit mediocre. Smiles, pleases and thank yous really do help.
There looks to be a bit more to explore on the menu, but there are other places to try before I decide if this will be come a go to for catholic inspiration for fat friday take out.

I stood waiting in the queue, of one other, for about 5 mins before anyone even acknowledged me. He was miserable so i said no thanks and walked out. Also the fish didnt even look that good. Baileys much better im sure.

Definitely the place to go for fish and chips in southend. Can also have meal there as well as take away. Excellent staff and service. Food is brilliant. Pay them a visit

this really is the best place in town for chips, w ith friendly and welcoming staff who are well presented and clean, in a clean restaurant and take away environment.
food is always to a high standard, whether you eat in or take away, and prices are reasonable.
would recommend this place to anyone coming to the area looking for nice fish and chips, to eat in as well as take away.
can get hot when waiting for order sometimes though, but worth it!

Great fish and chips. Good prices and option to eat in. Worth the 5 minute walk away from the High Street in Southend. Staff polite and helpful. Definitely worth a visit.
