I eat at the Nandos all the time and if I’m honest, it’s very hit a miss with the service and food quality provided. Sometimes you get good service and not so good food and sometimes it’s vice versa. Based on my last visit which was yesterday … I award 4*s … This visit was great food but not so quick service but I won’t mark it too bad on that aspect and it was very busy. Busier then I’ve seen it in a long time. We waited 10mins to be seated and 30mins for food from the ordering time.

As said above, Nando’s is Nando’s. Although the chicken is mildly spicy, I tend to eat far spicier as an lover of Indian cuisine, but realise they can’t be compared. The staff often seem rushed off their feet, and sometimes don’t give you their full attention, bt this is a rare scenario, and they’re often very polite and helpful. The tables are fairly well spaces out, but when you factor in the sheer number of chairs, people eating there, and people serving, it can get very cramped very fast. The food though, is moderatly good, but nothing to scream and shout about.

Nandos is Nandos, but I go to this one on a regular basis, often turning up as a group of up to 20. Its never a problem, the food is as good as any other Nandos the staff are nice, the surroundings are pleasant.

Nandos is an excellent place to meet up with friends, just you and your partner, birthdays parties. and it caters for all. the food is just wonderful, it is all chicken based but lots of different options, and you can decide if you want your chicken marinated in all the different sauces. i always go to nandos with my boyfriend and we love it we order the red pepper dip with garlic bread to start the i order the double breasted chicken fillet on pitta with salad and my chicken hot!

If you love chicken then I guess you can’t go far wrong with this place especially if you like it spicy. The restaurant is quite large with plenty of seats, ranging from tables for two upwards to ‘booths’ for six. You order your food and pay for it before it arrives, which in my opinion is a little off putting if you wish to complain as you lose the leverage of having your bill reduced. When you order the food you can ask for it in various spice strengths ranging from none to blow your hat off. The portions are fairy small and if you are a large eater will be dissapointed. Soft drinks are on tap and are help yourself which is a bonus. On occasions you can expect to wait a while for your meal even when you can see it sitting under the hot griddle waiting to be served. The staff are friendly enough and the décor is quite pleasant as well. There is wheelchair access, however the toilets are upstairs so not so good if you are disabled. Being nit picky now, but if you should eat there on a cold day be sure to ask for a table as far away from the door as you can as everytime a customer opens the door it gets icy cold in there.

I was really excited when I found out a Nando’s was coming to Southend. Not because I’m a huge lover of piri piri chicken, but because it meant that there would be increased dining options on Southend’s high street and we would be able to have something other than burgers or pizza if we fancied lunch out. Whenever a restaurant opens I expect some teething problems, but Nando’s problems have persisted for almost one year and I expect they won’t get any better. We have tried phoning our orders in advance for my husband to collect and every time he’s returned home to find that we are missing several dishes or have some wrong items. Now, some would ask why he didn’t check the order after the first or second time the restaurant made the same mistake . We have tried dining in at weekend lunch-times, found the service to be pitifully slow and quite often receive the wrong orders. Is it just us?! I don’t understand why they should have such problems — they only serve chicken! All of the staff are really friendly, stopping to make a fuss of the kids and making sure that they’ve got crayons and colouring paper when our meals seem to be taking a long time, but friendly staff is not a good enough reason to give this place any more chances.
