Birkdale Library

Extremely large library with an astonishing amount of new and old books, best sellers, auto-​biographies a favourite of mine plus all the normal books you would find in a long standing library. The staff are very helpful indeed and nothing is too much trouble for them. Boasts an internet suite for research and again, all staff are computer literate and able to guide you if required. The library itself is on the main bus route and the bus stop is about 500 yds away from the library. There is a car park at the side and rear and also parking just outside the front. The library is open 7 days a week with reduced opening hours at the weekend.

Birkdale Library is a reasonable size local community library offering all genre of books in large print and standard and on cd also.
They also have a reasonable cd and dvd rental service and a selection of audio book tapes.
The library has a number of computer terminals with internet access which is free and you dont have to be a member, you just register a password and you use that all the time then.
Anything you want to print off you can do and just pay for your copies.
Normal self service photocopying is also available.
They stock newspapers and magazines for you to read and also offer display space for craft and art exhibitors.
They have a reference section and a local history section.
They offer an adult reading group and a childrens reading club called chatterbooks and also a teens reading group.
They also have preschool clubs for children and their parents or carers for stories and rhymes.
On Tuesdays from 10 am to 12 pm you can get help with researching your familiy history which is a great resource.

Monday through to Saturday 9.30 — 1
Afternoons:
Monday, Tuesday and Friday 2 — 5
and late night is Wednesday 2 — 8
Please note Thursday and Saturday are half days.
The library has ramp access for wheelchair or less mobile users and there are toilet facilities.
