15 miles north of Liverpool, 2 miles west of Formby is the sandy coastline set between the sea and Formby town offers miles of walks through the pine woods, asparagus fields, large areas of beaches and dunes. It takes about 20 to 30 minutes to walk through the trees over the dunes and onto a massive beach if the tide is out. Make sure you remember where you came onto the beach or you might struggle to find where you left your car. We had not planned on such a long walk! It was just awesome, the day was sunny and there were pools of water along the beach where the sea had once been. The beach just goes on and on. I was trying to get closer to the ship that was in the horizon, but I never did catch up with it.
