St Albans has some great restaurants, but this is the best by far. Whether it’s for a special occasion or an informal meet up it fits the bill.
Great food, service and staff.
It becomes an addiction, but a good one.

Café by day for local business and restaurant by night. Always find the staff lovely they acknowledged you even when it is busy. Always fresh food.

This is a place with two identities; a sandwich and coffee shop by day and a rustic Italian restaurant by night. Don’t be fooled by the relatively basic décor and kebab shop next door location, the food is fantastic. My wife and I dine out 3 – 4 times a week in St Albans and this place is now firmly in the repertiore. Highly recommended.

Bar espresso is situated right by the main St Albans Rail Station so as I had been dying for a coffee since boarding the train, when I got here it was the first decent looking place you come to.
I ordered a latte. This is where the place let its self down. It was weak even though they said it had a couple of shots in it. Basically it tasted like warmed up milk.
Now for a place that calls itself an Espresso bar you would expect better, no?
Inside is small but decent enough, and I grabbed myself a seat by the window so I could watch the passers by. They also serve a small selection of cakes and sandwiches.
