Fun and unusual stuff! It is great when buying stationary items and cards for friends and family. I think it is too pricey to buy my everyday stationary there ususally but it is nice to treat myself to the odd item occasionally!

This shop has really some lovely staff members who will go out of their way to help you. They operate by the rule of ‘the customer is always right’ and seem to keep the shop looking well stocked and tidy despite the number of products on the shelves. This is quite a large branch with a wide range of items. Not too expensive, they have some really attractive stationary bits and gifts such as photo frames, keyrings, bookmarks, boxes as well as greeting cards, wrapping paper etc.

Even though this is a reasonably-sized shop, the Paperchase in the Maltings Centre, is laid out so that it always seems incredibly cramped(even when it’s not busy). This is especially true of the displays near the entrance! I do like coming in here in spite of the lack of space as they stock a good selection of cards, including more arty and slightly less hallmarky ones that you would typically find in Clintons. They also stock diaries, notebooks, filofaxes(and the inserts) and a colourful range of card and envelopes. I have tended to buy my Christmas cards here but have started to see many of the same designs reappearing year after year so probably won’t do so this year.

Nice selection of cards and gift wrap but to be honest I cannot bare to shop here on the weekends as it really gets too busy. The shop is tiny and all you need is a single push chair and no one can get around. Paperchase do specializes in seasonal cards that are funky but it would be nice for this store to have a wider permanent range. At least this is a welcome change from the same old cards being sold in Clinton — shame the shop is so small though.

Paperchase is a chain store of stationers but they are a bit different from your Rymans or WHSmith. They don’t have as much variety as the others but their quality and design is far better. They have really lovely cards for all occasions and beautiful stationery sets for children and adults. They sell files, pens, rulers etc. Everything is definitely on the expensive side of high street prices but it’s worth it for those special items. Paperchase is in the Maltings arcade of shops which has its own multi storey car park with lifts so it should be accessible for everyone. The shop itself is a bit crowded and can be a bit difficult to get around with a wheelchair or pushchair.

This is a really quirky little shop, but is great for unusual birthday cards, wedding cards, etc. It has a really great stationery department, and some really nice quality paper. It has a lovely gifty section, including things like home-made cookery books, make-up bags etc. It can be a little bit on the pricey side, but the stuff is really good quality so its worth it.
