Salty Dog Bar and Bistro

Really lovely restaurant, turned up at 6:30 on Saturday asking for a table for one.
After kindly being offered a table, it was only right that I’d order a refreshing pint of Peroni on draught.
The reason I’m given such a high review is because I’ve always been weary for ordering Surf and Turf, and on your plate you’d get a delicious piece of steak and some prawns over it.
The Salty Dog really delivered on the SURF and TURF, I’d highly recommend it.
Half a lobster, king prawns, scallops and steak all together. I’ve never neglected the chunky chips so much, usually I smother them in a peppercorn sauce but when that wasn’t necessary as the sweet chilli and garlic sauce was gorgeous. Perfect for the fish and meat combination.
If that wasn’t enough, I had to treat myself to a Home made crème brûlèe, perfectly served and enjoyed.
I will definitely be returning.

Vegetarian food was cold and bread with cheese tasted like it was sat on the countertop for days.

Great restaurant, lots of choice of great food. If going for lunch it’s best to ask for the full menu instead of just ordering off the lunch menu (unless you want what’s on there obviously!). Has a few tight parking spaces out front if it’s not full, and is perfect for sitting outside when sunny, and still has an open front when the roof is closed over the terrace for an al fresco feel even in bad weather.
