The light and impressive Godfrey Pilkington Art Gallery is a free for all dedicated space for the public to view. It is located in a fine Victorian building, known as the Gamble Building in the heart of the town centre.
Throughout the year, the gallery showcases a varied and engaging programme of visual art exhibitions.
Although the gallery is the smallest one I’ve been to, I was actually impressed with the art on display and astounded by some portrait pieces including the still life sketches, profile paintings of people and nude art. Instead, I didn’t get any of the puzzling abstract type which I often frown upon!
If you’re into art, you’ll like this little masterpiece of a gallery.
