During our holiday we paid a visit to the Rajpoot. The restaurant is very narrow and although it had but a few visitors, it was hard to get a table for 2 that was in a good spot. The first table we got offered was in a very narrow spot at a passageway. We decided to go into the next small room, where a table seemd to be in a cosy spot. After sitting for a while we realized, that behind the table was the door to the kitchen and we were now sitting on a even more busy passageway. Since we already ordered, we didn´t want to change again. But on the other hand, any table for 2 had one seat in a passageway. The waitress seemed to be completely new to her job and the boss seemed to be a bit nerved by her inexperience. Both were friendly nonetheless. We ordered as starter the Samosa and Vegetable Pakoras. As Main Menu the Chicken Tika Masala with additional rice and the Vegetable Madhumala with additional Nan bread. Before the starters we had a variety of sauces with other bread(of which I don´t know the name). All dishes were very delicious and the servings were large. Only the salad was quite boring. In the window to the restaurant many awards show the success of the restaruant and it´s owner. All in all we were quite happy with the food, but the cosiness for 2 persons leaves a little to be desired. What I have never seen before: You can bring your own alcohol into the restaurant to drink.

Have been coming here for a long time, but this time it didn’t seem as good. New menu lots of new staff? Old favourites gone(peas paneer) they didn’t even have keema rice. What we ordered was very nice and very flavourful. Will return in the future when I come to st Ives, in the hope they have reinstated some of our favourites.

We wandered into Rajpoot as a couple of hungry travellers after a film at the nearby cinema, and I came out a happy person. I like trying dishes I’ve never heard of, and they have a dish called«Tawa» that is a flavourful, saucy concoction served in a spectacle of a sizzling pan and best eaten with their tasty naan and/or rice. I got the Vegetable Tawa and loved it. The décor is cosy and cute, and the service was decent. I don’t know if I’ll find Tawa anywhere else. If you want Indian food while in St. Ives, I think Rajpoot is the place to go.

Nice Indian restaurant. Ordered chicken korma, pilau rice and peshwari nann. All items were cooked nicely. I enjoyed the meal but nothing special in my opinion. Staff very friendly and efficient. Cosy setting and from what I saw it seemed clean. Would have no problem with going back if I was in the area but would be more inclined to try new restaurants to find somewhere really special.

Had a fantastic meal in this place last night, they are very friendly and nothing is to much trouble. The food is out of this world it is to dollar stuff you get plenty and theyvhave lots of choice, if you don’t have children that are very adventurous then they do a few English items. A must visit when you are in St Ives.
