Mr Pang’s

Took the family here for celebration dinner. Food was excellent, service was excellent. Great atmosphere, very highly recommended.

Mr Pang’s has been doing what it does best for over 20 years serving good quality Chinese food in a lovely setting.
As has been said before you have to search to find the place in Stamford’s warren of alleys which lead off the main high street, having found it however you’ll be amazed at the size of the interior and the delicate Chinese decoration.
That said the décor hasn’t changed much if at all over the period, but because I only visit infrequently it’s like returning to a visit an old friend.
The food is standard Chinese fare, nothing out of the ordinary but everything done well. Set meals are a reasonable price and I have never left Mr Pang’s feeling hungry.
Easily the best Chinese restaurant in Stamford and well worth a visit.

Good food, friendly staff. A pleasure to visit

We were most disappointed with Mr Pangs on the dinnertime of Friday 28.1.11 we were basically turned away. We were holidaying in the area and the week before we read up on reviews of places to eat. This was chosen as the reviews were so good and was to be the highlight of the week eating wise. We arrived at Mr Pangs at 1.20pm as we had trouble parking the car (market day).On entering we noticed there were no other diners and we were approached by a member of staff who informed us last orders were at 1.30pm and closure at 2pm. We didn’t argue the point as it was obvious they didn’t want or need our business and left feeling sorry for ourselves as we were so looking forward to the Chinese. We found a nearby restaurant which has only been open a few weeks and had an excellent meal. We spent £40 which was what we would have spent at Mr Pangs. There will be no more visits in the future (probably our loss) but we just felt so let down and not very good customer service.

This restaurant/​takeaway is one of the best in town. The food is fantastic, the staff are so friendly and the prices are reasonable. There is also a huge fish pond in the middle of the restaurant!

A hidden jewell, in that you have to know where it is, as it is tucked away down a side street, but it is well worth the effort. The food is some of the best Chinese food to be found in the UK outside of Chinatown in London. The staff is very friendly and the proprietors make you feel very welcome. The restuarant is quite large inside and Sunday buffets are excellent value for money although they do tend to be quite popular, so the earlier you are there the better.
Dinner for two, including three courses and drinks, works out at about £30pp. Good value.

The restaurant is hidden away in a small lane and from the outside it doesn’t look like much. Venture inside though and you’ll be surprised to find a large, spacious and well themed Chinese restaurant. The food is fantastic, possibly the best Chinese I have tasted. They also do take away to which I drive past my local Chinese to get to. Only down side is that they don’t deliver.
