Having done Chelford Car Boot as a seller before and being successful I was looking forward to a morning of hustle and bustle and a bit of banter with potential customers. I couldn’t have been more wrong. I was up at 6, out at 7 and there for half past. The people ushering us to a spot guided us and many other cars into this tiny field, and squashed us all together bumper to bumper. There was just enough room to put our pasting table out. There seemed to be a few people passing the ends of our alley, but barely any came down even to have a look. The cold weather seemed to be making everyone look miserable, and a pleasant hello i gave to one person got me a dirty snotty look. After a few hours of selling practically nothing, it started spitting(and we all know how people panic when it starts spitting) most traders packed everything up and waited to get out as the way we were all packed in like sardines made it impossible. All in all after paying £8 for a pitch i think i came out with about £3. What a waste of a sunday morning. I would avoid this one in future and stick to ones a bit more local to me.
