Martins Bakery

I must have walked past this place countless times but I never really registered it was there. Still, when I needed some bread earlier today, I decided to call in and see what was on offer.
As I arrived somewhat late in the day, there wasn’t the full selection but there was still a decent choice of sweet and savoury baked goods. There’s the usual fare: sausage rolls, iced buns and various cupcakes; in addition to a selection of freshly baked bread.
On this occasion, I went for the «Manchester sourdough». I do like a sourdough loaf, and this one was pretty good.
Only a quick stop for a loaf, but they did the job and the staff were super friendly. Only thing which caught me out was they don’t take card, but fortunately there’s cash machines right over the road so no hassle there.
Not bad for a local outlet of a chain bakery.

i had a fresh cream cake with seasonal fruit toppings made by Martins Bakery for a birthday. the cake looked wonderful and everyone said it tasted delicious as well. msot ppl thought i had it made by somewhere very posh :)) they do lots of other cakes as well, and the lady behind the counter was very helpful as i usually change my mind abt 50 times wen it comes to making decisions!!! all in all, definitely one to keep in mind for birthday cakes for kids and grownups…
