The George Pub

The George in Stockport is a lovely pub situated opposite Debenhams on the main A6. It has recently been renovated and it looks fantastic, really modern décor with wooden floors and a big screen tv on the wall, which shows sporting events (and news during the day). They have a great menu of pub food, with a selection of meals at 2 for £5.95, and it is all great quality. The staff are brilliant and efficient, and helpful to boot. They have a pool table, a quiz night one night a week, and a DJ at weekends, and hold party nights on certain occasions like Halloween, Christmas and New Year and St Patricks Day. Its a great place to start your night, with Sam’s Bar, Cobdens and Bambooza in walking distance, the Bamboo Club in Hazel Grove a short bus ride away, on the main bus route to Manchester center, a 3 minute walk to the train station, and with a taxi rank close by (a taxi to manchester center costs approximately £15).
