WH Smith is in the centre of town and is in easy walking distance of car parks and bus stops. The store sells a limited range of books and newspapers, as well as CD’s and computer accessories. It is a convenient choice to buy items from, and selected offers are great(like selected half price cookery books).

This is a great little WH Smiths branch located on Wellington Square in Stockton Town Centre. It’s not as big as the Middlesbrough store by a long way but they’ve managed to fit a bit of everything in. To the rear of the store there’s DVD’s CD’s and Games, then there’s games, stationary and gifts and towards the front of the store there are newpapers and magazines and an extensive book department, which is the highlight of the shop. They also sell a range of confectionary and drinks and they now have tobacco products as well. The staff are very helpful and will search the warehouse for the item you want or order in any books etc that they don’t have in stock.

Part of my compulsive obsessive routine as a teenager was to head to Smiths every Saturday for my copy of 2000AD. But I bought Toxic from Books and Comics for some reason. But that was PROPERWH Smiths, down in the Castle Centre near Wilkinsons. This is a newer, one level WhSmith, which is slightly stranger to fathom. It is possibly a bit bigger than the previous one but it’s NOTTHESAME. It still has all the stuff you’d want from a WH Smith, without the size or stock of a Borders.
