Very cool, laid back and generally just an exellent night out! Not the biggest place in the world, but i’ve never seen a fight, and everyone just kind of rubs alongside each other with no problems. Only issue i do have is the stickiness everywhere from spilt drinks, but you just learn not to lean on the walls! Admissions and drinks are both cheap and they seem to get a constat stream of new and breakthrough bands performing. The sound has certanly improved over the years, as have the number of people turning up for anight there, band or not.

a lot smaller than the sugarmill, which is the only other real live music venue in hanley. Its also in a rather run down part of the city so not the greatest of fun to walk to. However, the sound is good, and the bar is well stocked. Tickets are cheap, and the club nights are always good fun Makes for a nice intimate music venue, espcially for local unsigned bands, especially the talent nights which are usually high quality showcases. Very good, if a little small, live music venue

The first time I came here was New Years eve 2006, it only cost us £10.00 to get it which is pretty darn cheap for new years eve! 2 or 3 bands played(I dont remember exactly, was quite wasted) and there was a DJ on afterwards. I was most impressed when the DJ actually played my requestthe place was packed and people were constantly going up to ask for songs –so I was over the moon when he played mine :) we had an amazing night. I went there again a few months ago with a small group of friends that go there often. We got there early and there were barely any peopleI was shocked at how small this place was when I saw it without people! Its basically just one medium sized room with a stage at one side, a bar on the opposite side and a place for the DJ against the right hand wall. There is a small cloakroom(pound to leave your stuff there). Before I’d even finished my first can of Red Stripe(they sell beer cans, not in glasses) the place was filling up. There wasnt a band on but the DJ played some brilliant songs and everybody in the place ended up dancing again. I had another brilliant night.
