Good, inexpensive lunchtime menu, popular with workers from the nearby Civic Centre. There is a function room offering comedy evenings, meditation classes etc. Small selection of books — you can bring your own and swap for a different one. This pub deserves to survive the credit crunch and is worth a visit.
On Sundays lunch is served until 3pm which is worth remembering as most places stop serving earlier. When we had a Sunday lunch there however the roast potatoes were almost cremated.
This is one of three pubs in a small chain owned by the Titanic Brewery so they serve their draught beer and some guest ales.
