Popped in for lunch whilst in area. Nice welcome and good service. Food good too. Nice, comfortable pub with real ale too. Well worth a visit. Part of the Crown Carvery chain. £4.19 for standard carvery.

Really good value and quality of food. Beef can be quite variable and sometimes tough but you are safe with the gammon and turkey. Could do with a few more staff serving at the bar but otherwise an excellent pub with nice atmosphere and good food.

The Barley Mow is a landmark pub set in the centre of Studley. It has a lot of character externally as it was a coaching inn. Inside, it’s like many other pubs in the area — standard dark wooden tables and mismatching carver chairs. It only recently changed from one of the Vintage Inns to a daily carvery. I have to say, the food has improved immeasurably since it has. The prices are reasonable, even on a Sunday and you’ll find mid-​week and lunch deals too. It’s very child friendly (though not overrun) and has large tables to accommodate. There’s a lovely picture window that you can sit in. Sadly it doesn’t have a great view — but you can happily watch the cars go by. In winter you’ll find a couple of real log fires crackling away too. Nice place like a member of the family.
