A little bit of a disclaimer here. Despite it being a hotel and all i’ve not actually stayed a night. But as it happens to be open almost as late as its possible to stay out around Sudbury i’ve ended up at the Mill a few times for the purposes of enjoying the local waters. The Mill is a really charming building. Little hideaways and old mill furniture litter the ground floor. You’ll noticed the famed mummified cat as well i’m sure(whose removal from the premise some years ago caused a fire that nearly destroyed the hotel). Anyway mummified cat in place and beer in hand your really in for a relaxing evening. The staff were attentive and even came to let us know when they were closing and if they could bring us more drink(all the way in our far flung cubby near the river). The price was reasonable enough for this part of the world and they had some nice beers on tap. Being quiet and friendly it was a nice run down to an otherwise hectic night of frivolity. Given the feel of the restaurant, bar and surrounding grounds i’m sure the Mill is a brilliant place to stay as well and if i ever have cause to use hotels in the area i’ll certainly consider the Mill.
