This is a lovely community pub with some very quirky décor(according to the barstaff the pipes contain cosmic steam power that keeps the pub running). They’ve got some good beers here, from the local area too. As well as the relatively well known Summer Lightening there were a couple of tasty beers from the Surry Hills brewery(Greensand IPA and Ransmore). There is a big garden outside and the negatives are few. The tables are a bit tightly packed together and probably require a lot of customer rearrangement when busy. Toilets could do with improvement too.

If you live in the Surbiton area, you’ll know there’s no lack of choice when it comes to pubs. However, if you are looking for an authentic, local pub experience(and by that I don’t mean spilled fosters and a chelsea match on wide screen tv), leave the overcrowded ones on the high street and head down to the Lamb. It’s off the beaten track by about a 2 mins walk, after a series of tacky greasy spoons, and doesn’t look like much from the outside. But once you’re in, you’ll remember how truly comforting a pint on a friday night can be. The seating is comfortable and cosy, the lighting is soft, the real ale selection is great, and they also have the excellent Stamford Press cider on tap. I’ve heard their cheese board is very tasty. The landlords are husband and wife, friendly genuine people, and the locals are not the unwelcoming type. Last but not least, a lovely back garden, perfect for warm summer nights, charming by the light of the candles. A lovely, unpretentious experience.

This is by far the best pub in Surbiton. Laid back, great beer, good music without being pretentious — what else could you ask for? Should become my local before long !

What a great place, good beer + good cheese = good atmosphere. This pub deserves your custom.

I love this pub. It’s been through quite a few incarnations over the last few years(some of which were thoroughly unpleasant) and has now totally found it’s feet. The owners and staff are absolutely lovely and they’ve made it(very quickly) by far the best pub in the ‘Burb.

Easily the best pub in Surbiton. The husband-and-wife owners transformed this old boozer into an understated, cosy but cool local pub with a lick of paint and some wonky furniture. Well-kept ale and a lovely beer garden, plus a heated outdoor tent area for smokers add to the appeal. They have been know to project Wii games on a 27 ft screen in the back garden in summer. Random fancy dress parties seem to occur for no reason. No hot food at the moment but they have a truly stunning selection of English cheeses.
