Four Oaks Pub

They have Peroni on the draft which gets a ¹⁰⁄₁₀ from me. However, it desperately needs revamping, but as a quiet local pub it’s everything you wan’t.

This is one of my favourite pubs. It’s quiet (though I don’t know what’s it’s like at the weekend) and relaxing. It’s a strange mixture of modern and fogeyfied, which is my idea of ‘nice’. The food costs more than the average pub, but it’s well worth it — fantastic fodder!

Look out for Ros, she’ll look after you, 10 stars out of 10. No wait for service, speedy delivery, nice big amounts, well cooked and tasty, good range on menu and of course being a pub has all the drinks you might want for a reasonable evening out.
OK, these places get a bit knocked about and really they’re not exactly posh, but who cares, you get a good bit of grub, nice pint in a warm and friendly atmosphere, with lots of people around all having a good time of it and attentive service, what more? Excellent.

Calm, kool and yummy!
I’ve been to the Four Oaks a few times over the passed few months and I’ve always been impressed with the politeness of the staff and the scrumptious food. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. Maybe a bit too quiet for me or maybe I’m just too loud! I went to a private function there recently and showed off my dance moves. The best part of the night was the buffet. I couldn’t fault it. The usual worry of there not being enough food to go around didn’t exist. I ate one too many sausage rolls though!
During the week the regulars here are usually of a mature age but don’t let this put you off, especially during the summer. There are a couple of seating areas outside, one nearer to the front of the pub — for the smokers — and one at the rear which is gated in, so it’s safe for your little ones. The larger garden offers bright sunshine throughout the day and is really peaceful for you to sit back and read the paper — or do the crossword, if you’re anything like me!
This is a good pub just tucked out of Mere Green centre. If you want to chill our or if you fancy a drink and don’t want to be pestered then this is the place to go.
I only wish they had a quiz machine, then I’d be here more often.

This is a traditional pub/​restaurant, serving up superb, home cooked food. A great place for either lunch or dinner, particularly for those with big appetites… One meal here and I can rarely eat for the rest of the day! The menu provides lots of choice, but the special boards are also quite extensive. This is the ideal alternative to the swanky upmarket venues… Its low beams and huge collection of empty wine bottles transport you to that wonderful feeling of a spending a weekend in the country.
Chocalate lovers — finish off your meal with the chocolate Torte… its truly divine.
