Another one of Swansea’s former flagship stores that has not stood the test of time well. From the unimaginative clothing range to the poor selection of goods for the home British Home Stores has certainly not keep up with the fast paced world of retail. The prices are reasonable but with Marks and Spencer’s next door and Tx Maxx opposite in comparison they seem over inflated. Over the years other stores have refitted and re-branded but the décor of the shop looks dated and there have been little changes in the attitude of the staff there who don’t even seem to be clued up on where products are and for a small store you would expect that they would.

I just don’t really like this store for some reason. With all the other department stores in Swansea, I just can’t see the point in going here. It doesn’t feel very organised, even though I suppose it is in its way. The café is quite good, though, and I’ve eaten in here a few times during a long trip in Swansea so I would recommend that if you’re looking for somewhere fairly quick and easy to dine out. There is quite a lot of clothes here and home items upstairs, though, so it might be a look in if the other stores along Oxford Street aren’t offering you what you want.

This BHS located on Princess way is a well established store. As most department stores they stock a massive range of clothes and homewares. Their sales mean you can get quality items at a good price. I do like their range of christmas goodies, they always have a good range of sweets and novelty gifts under £10. Their childrens sleepware is also of good quality. I find the prices more reasonable that rival Debenhams.
