Been for a carvery a few times here. I agree the décor is s bit clinical. But the food was very nice. Not as good as a toby but still nice.

Hmm, what can I say? Disappointing.
I waited with interest as the signs went up — Real Ales and Carvery Restaurant they boasted. Sounds warm and friendly — pictures of dark oak and roaring fires came to mind.
The reality is a bit different. The day my husband and I called there they weren’t serving food. I peeped into the restaurant and was disappointed to find that it looked a bit clinical — lots of light wood furniture and pleasant pictures. Not so much of a warm and cosy carvery restaurant, rather a plush café.
We decided to pop into the bar and have a drink instead. No mention of real ales as far as we could see. We bought our drinks and went to sit down. We had our choice of table as we were the only ones there apart from six (fairly drunk) regulars who were stationed at the bar.
Ok, it was early evening and it wasn’t the weekend so maybe we didn’t pick the best time to visit. We will give it another try, maybe one weekend, and hopefully food will be served and the atmosphere will be better.
Truthfully, I’d like to see the place work out but my first impression wasn’t great.
