Peachy Keens

Been here a few times, last time I used a groupon voucher because I don’t have much money but wanted to take my husband out on a nice date. We stuffed ourselves stupid and the server recommended a lush bottle of wine. Deffo good for the price!

Hmm. Perhaps the timing of our visit resulted in our less than average experience. We went on a Friday evening and as bad luck would have, were seated in the middle of two children’s birthday parties. Brilliant. That meant we were overlooked for everything from drinks to clearing our plates away. Four times we had to ask for drinks and it was only after my boyfriend approached a waiter (after we’d been back and forth to the buffet three times already), that we managed to get any drinks delivered to our table. The food was average, nothing to write home about. Some of it was quite spicy, fine if you like that sort of thing. The dessert bar wasn’t all that impressive and it felt more canteen like than buffet restaurant!
In future, I’ll stick with Cosmo.

Ambiance: Peachy Keens is a really beautiful restaurant with polished tables/​floors/​etc. The staff really make an effort to keep the place clean and glamorous.
Customer Service: Not the best in terms of being professional, but they were kind and sweet which is what matters I suppose. But the service seems to fit more of a homey café type place rather than a ritzy looking restaurant.
Food: The quality of Peachy Keens food is pretty good. My only complaint would be that they lack a bit in terms of variety (or maybe I’m just comparing them to Cosmo too much). Their dishes are very limited aside from Indian, but unfortunately all the Chinese dishes lack authenticity.
My recommendations:
~ Try the spicy chicken wings. They’re made to order at special request at the chef.
~ They do have pretty good desserts. The banana pudding was great!
All in all, Peachy Keens wasn’t bad. I definitely enjoyed my meal, but it could’ve been a lot better. Hopefully in the future they can expand their variety and I’d be a lot more keen.
