Swansea Library

This library is in a great location, with free car parking (remember to ask for a free token to get out of the car park). The adjacent café in the same building has a great view over the Swansea Bay. There are an extensive range of books, journals and periodicals and inter-​library loans can be arranged very easily. A top class place to browse and to study.

Huge modern, bright library on the sea front. Very friendly staff. Large childrens area. You can read books, newspapers and have snacks and drinks as you enjoy the view.

Excellent 5 Star Library in the City Centre. It has a bright and open planned layout after recently being done out! The computers are high-​spec and the wi-​fi facility is amazing! Excellent for anyone wanting somewhere quiet to get on with some work. Excellent views over the bay. The new bendy-​bus service provides regular buses to the library from anywhere in Swansea city centre.

Love it here. Friendly knowledgeable staff, great facilities including a fab children’s section, and even free parking. There is also now free wi-​fi! A really good resource.

Book worms be warned this place is seriously addictive place, set in the country hall on the Swansea sea front the new home for Swansea Central library is an amazing place. Where else can you sit down read a paper and gaze for miles out to sea in the warmth? A vast array of books, Audio books, CD’s and DVD’s the library has something for everyone. The Staff are really approachable and know their stuff. You can also surf the internet and send e-​mails in the library with free access to these services but only for two hours at a time. You can pre book them as well from home just check the council’s web site. There is a coffee shop in the building with great sandwiches. Car parking is free but there have been problems parking with non disabled drivers taking up the short stay spaces reserved for disabled people. Regularly having children’s events the library has become one of the best places to go in the city and with its design you’ll never go out of there without something of interest.

I was upset initially when the old Swansea library closed down, I used to love the wonderful feel of the Reference library, it always felt like walking back into another century. However the new Swansea Central library compensates for losing it’s listed building by a great expansion, amazing situation in County Hall (I’m now jealous of people working with that view!!) overlooking the sweep of Swansea Bay and the opportunity of books, cds, dvds in a far more comfy set up. Now the danger is in too much distraction when doing some study at the library, the view and opportunity of also having lunch and tea in the café next door!
