Totally over-rated in my opinion, after being invited to a friends Birthday party here recently, seems like they are living on a(good) past reputation to me, as I cannot understand the appeal of being jammed into a very odd shaped building and served mediocre food all night, at a set price too, which was £22:00 per person on our visit, and having to bring your own drinks as well. Very weird experience to me all round, and I certainly won’t be going back here again. BTWThey only take CASH here, which is also a bit odd in this day and age. Also.beware of the 10% EXTRA service charge they will put on, if you are a party of 8 or more, as that will add a LOT to your bill, it was a bone of contention with the people that organised our night out, and they have vowed never to return because of this surcharge. So be very careful here if booking a Party.

I have never been a supporter of restaurants that ask you to bring your own drink, but this time the intimate surroundings and good food make it a really good place to go for a social gathering. It maybe a bit pricey but this is a local business and the food is of good quality. The food combination’s as mentioned in Monkey’s review are delectable but the only thing that lets this place down it the location as I often cannot find a parking space.

Overhyped. Its quality is as deep as the pockets of average Swansea folk

A brilliant restuarant, situated in Brynmill. This should be a lot higher up the list, I would not hesitate in saying it’s one of the best in Swansea. The simple costing of the menu is a bonus, with £20 for 3 courses it not cheap, but it’s nice reading a menu without having the price of dishes throwing of certain choices. Steak or salad the price is the same. They’ve gone for the friendly simple approach with drinks too, it’s bring your own, no corkage charge. So you can buy your favourite alcoholic drinks beforehand at shop prices, which makes the £20 for 3 courses irresistable. The food is excellent, with a Moroccan slant, perfect combinations and taste. Clearly a lot of care is taken in the preperation. I recommend to everybody, and will continue to go back.

was one of my fav places in swansea but think it can be a bit inconsistant at times. also recently upped the price putting it on a par with other restaurants which slightly beat it in terms of quality. overal still good but not great any more

I was wasn’t expecting to find such a great restaurant in a quite studenty area of Swansea — this was anything but the standard kebabs/fast food outlets that are dotted around the area! We had a table of about a dozen — we more or less had most of the choices on the menu. I don’t think I’ve heard of a smoked salmon cheescake anywhere else, but I ordered it here, it was really good. Fish on a prawn potato cake as the main course was very tasty and the selection of vegetables was very good. It was excellent value and the service was friendly and efficient. THe atmosphere was very unpretentious — overall it is highly recommended. I understand that Truffles is a Bring your own booze place, but even if you don’t realise that before you arrive, there are plenty of off-license places around.

Truffle and it’s sister restaurant Truffle Too incorporate reasonable cost with bring your own without a corkage charge and a delicious set three course menu. The menus have a variety of dishes to suit all palates-from Moroccan Tagine dishes to more French and Modern British style cuisine beautifully cooked and accompanied by fresh and tasty vegetables. The only major issue is having enough room for dessert! However a little additional room is needed for the coffee and the home made truffles the restaurants are named for. Service is always very friendly and helpful with the owners making the restaurants welcoming and comfortable. Both restaurants are very popular and booking for weekend nights is needed some time in advance.
