* disclaimer: we only had drinks, and sat outside* We stopped into this place for a quick glass of wine. We sat outside and the service was fast(but you have to order at the bar — no table side service). Unfortunately the view of the sea is currently blocked by scaffolding … I popped inside and the décor was… interesting. Fake«caves» and nautical themed ornaments. A little too dark for lunchtime, but I can imagine this place is quite buzzing at night. Overall not really excited.

The interiors are really nice! You have your own cave to sit in. So cosy! When ut comes to food and drinks then… Some good cocktails but the scallops dish was badly composed in my opinion. It could’ve done with something moist, like a white wine based sauce. The ribs were good though.

This was certainly an unexpected place to stumble into while I was in Brighton. We were starving and popped in here for a bite, and it was very good! The interior was bizarrely intriguing, it was fashioned to look like cave dwellings(I assume) and the seating was very intimate and dim. If you’re able to get a window or outdoor seat, you’ll look out over the sea. We ordered some Prosecco and small plates. The macaroni and cheese was incredible, as was the fried shrimp. I can see it being a fun place on a busy night as well, I think they might do live music in there sometimes. We really liked that they had a little photo booth to take some silly photos in as well.

My partner and I went on a sunny, late afternoon for a quick drink. We sat outside, which was the right choice. The terrace on the beach is lovely, and the beer was delicious — I had the IPA! We also ordered snacks; he had the mussel popcorn about which he raved, while I had the onion rings which were not great — oil sodden and flavourless. However, the interior is absolutely revolting; it’s a disturbing mess, and feels rather like being inside a cancerous womb. The one trip inside to use the facilities made me feel ill and that I’d prefer the public toilets on the beach! I can’t imagine spending more than a few seconds inside, and don’t imagine it will do very well during the winter months.
