Unfortunately while the pub’s look and feel was promising, the food really disappointed. I had the steak and ale pie and a local Cornish cider which would have rated 3 stars — no more because it wasn’t a pie at all — it was beef stew with some puff pastry floating on top — hate that! I always feel ripped of when they ‘cheat’ like that. See my pic. However it tasted pretty good, and the beef cooked to the point that it was tender. American customers with allergies watch out — the pie was full of mushrooms too(they were good) but not listed on the menu. So why 2 stars — my poor wife ordered the Cornish pasty(should be good since we were in Cornwall — right?). It really Disappointed — no flavor, little meat(lots of potato), probably stored frozen for a while before being heated. I tried to eat some of it and gave my wife some of my «pie». Overall — if I was passing by I would drop in for a cider or beer but the food disappoints, so no thanks…
