White Hart

Rather unpleasant. Table in a scruffy little corner and average food. Needs to smarten up its act.

Another rare find in the South Devon area and one in a very picturesque setting, the courtyard at Dartington Hall.
So far we’ve every visit to the White Hart has been really good, from the service to the excellent food and menu choice. While I can heartily recommend the Dartington Beef Burger, Caramelised Onions & Melted Cheddar served with French Fries & Salad, the rest of the menu is of a more sophisticated fare and equally as appetising.
You can choose to sit in the snug and cosy bar area or be seated in the dining room which is the inside of a three storey tower. During the winter it can get cold in the dining room, so warm clothes is a good idea.
It’s quite a drive to get here from where we live, but it is worth the trip. We tend to combine a trip to the White Hart with a visit to The Barn cinema which is situated on the same courtyard. If you’re into foreign or art house cinema, this is a good place to watch the smaller independent film.
