Marble Hill Park

This is a big park but I think there are nicer in area. There isn’t really much to this park it’s just a big open space, so perfect for sports and chasing sticks (if you’re a dog!)
There is also a large historic house you can visit (we didn’t) that apparently belonged to
George II mistress. Lucky thing!
We were there on a Saturday and the adjacent field was buzzing with football matches.
There is a café next to the house as well but we didn’t use it. Not much else to say about this park, with Richmond park just round the corner it kinda pales in comparison.

A big ol’ square park near St Margarets rail station, with Marble Hill House at one end (the once home of King George II’s mistress, apparently). We didn’t take a tour of this majestic house, but instead soaked up the rays on a glorious London afternoon. This park is ideal of a game of rounders and to let your dog mingle with other dogs. Note: I do not own a dog, but there were several running around, and it was adorable watching the mutts socialise.
Plenty of trees line the perimeter of the park if you need some shade. But for a SW London spot for some sun and a picnic, I’d highly recommend trying Marble Hill. (And if you forget anything for your picnic, there’s a Tesco Express right next to the station).

As far as parks go, this is definitely one of my favourites in London and surrounding areas. It might not be the biggest, but in my humble opinion it is definitely one of the prettiest. Its a lot quieter than most of the central London parks, and has grand views over the Thames ans lovely cobbled streets and amazing houses surrounding it. And the park itself of big old chestnuts, which look like they’ve seen alot in their time, but make the park look lovely. In summer people come here to play in their cricket whites — which combined with Marble Hill House as a backdrop and the prettiness of the park, it does look quintessentially english and makes you feel quite proud!
