Ate here last week and the food was unexpectedly sublime. My cod mornay was incredible(was the fish of the day) and my partner’s steak was similarly brilliant and cooked perfectly. Our starters were dazzling in their presentation(oriental pork belly, goat’s cheese hash) and a ludicrous brownie(home made) to finish. Good selection of craft ales and the music was great too(REM, Stones, etc). Seriously recommended.

By far, the best pub in Walsall(though some may say that isn’t hard!) Frequented by an older crowd, including local business folk, this place is calm, cool and relaxed. The restaurant is great too, but the food tends to be quite rich, so not so good if you’re watching your figure. I go here all the time to meet friends, and there is always a nice welcome. Sometimes I get my orange squash free! Hurray!

While I agree that the surroundings and atmosphere are fine here, the food was just bland and over cooked. Not value for money at all. Belly pork main was like a house brick, couldn’t be easily cut with the knife provided. Lamb shank(£1.50 suppliment) was bland and stringy. The Malbec Merlot was a good choice and not too pricy. I had vomiting and diarrhea within 20 minutes of finishing the meal and when I told him, the manager was vile to me. He said I wasn’t ill enough! Not once did he or his staff ask how I was feeling as I staggered from the loo to the bar and back to our table. Oh, and he wouldn’t take my meal off the bill. Not a pleasant experience.

great bar/restaurant — best place to eat out in Walsall town centre. a good seasonal menu that changes regularly. good service and a friendly ambience. it’s a nice comfortable place to catch up with friends over a bottle of wine and a dish of olives too. come to that try it for lunch in between shopping. something for everyone!

Arbor Lights is very civilised with a lovely warm atmosphere, friendly staff, not to mention comfy sofas! Although one of Walsall’s pricier places to eat, it’s well worth it. They serve delicious meals in the restaurant area and light snacks in the bar. The food’s always outstanding and they offer a seasonal menu with ingredients sourced locally. Arbor Lights really is a cut above the rest! It’s ideal for romantic meals, a drink after work or just meeting up with friends. Near the town centre with plenty of parking nearby
