I love this park. I am so privileged to have it on my door step. On a sunny day it’s great to go alone, with friends or family for a nice walk around the huge Hatherton Lake surrounded by trees. Walking passed the old Town Stocks, the historic Bandstand and the Boathouse. The Park has been upgraded thanks to the Lottery Heritage fund. The Boathouse and the Bandstand repaired, trees planted, beautiful pathways, Skate park and Children’s park with a Lido. It is truly a Beautiful Arboretum. I love walking round taking photographs. See the Beauty and enjoy this great Walsall Town Park.

Walsall Council have spent a lot of money re-working this park and its nearly all finished. If you have not been down for a while make some time to have a walk around the lake, enjoy the beautiful gardens and have a wonder up to the children’s play area. There is a new soft play area which is great on hot days for the kids — squrts water everywhere :-)

A beautiful park a stone’s throw from the largely dirty and unkempt town centre of Walsall. Large pools for both fishing and for watching the ducks. Wonderful place to sit on a summer’s day and the fact that it is a large park means that you can have a good walk before you have covered all of it. It also boasts play facilities for children as well as a skateboarding/BMX ramp.

Since moving here almost 3 years ago I’ve seen the town and the Walsall Arboretum improve at an amazing pace! The arboretum boat house is looking fantastic and I can’t wait to listen to music at the restored bandstand! Bringing back Walsall’s former glory is something I hope to see in my lifetime and so far it has a brilliant start. The decorative plants have just been weeded and it’s amazing to see all the ornamental shrubs revealed that have been hiding for who knows how long. And now the downtown is having some much needed improvements as well. It’s a really exciting time to be in Walsall!

The Arboretum is a large park that is home to all sort of facilities including children’s play area, tennis courts, bowling green and small golf course. There are also two lakes(complete with many ducks and swans), lots of green space and plenty of seating. It’s an ideal place to go for a stroll, leisurely cycle ride, picnic, play with the kids or just enjoy the scenery forgetting you are a stone’s throw from the centre of town!

I personally love the arboretum, in the summer its ideal for picnics, feeding the ducks and a nice place to take the kids. in the winter the lights are lovely, they arent as good as previous years and the lights seem to be repwetative with not a lot of choice for kids, there wasnt many character lights but overall its ok.
