Located in the Hersham Green Shopping Village is this quaint Chinese restaurant run by what seems to be a family of Hong Kongers. The décor is typical of a middle tier Chinese restaurant in the home countries and service is attentive. Overall the experience at The Emperor is average and the food is equally so. Ordering the Mapo Tofu and the Crispy Shredded Beef, along with Yung Chow Fried Rice everything arrives steaming hot(just the way Chinese food should do) and quite quickly. It is evident that the middle class British establishment that likely frequents this restaurant has turned it into that overly sweet, gloopy food that hasn’t found its safe house in me yet. I guess in order to survive you have to adapt to local tastes and this place sits squarely in that spot. Judging it from a British Chinese food standpoint it is decent and good and cheap for a sit down place. 3* meh but will do in a pinch.
