The Springbrook

The Springbrook runs a 2 for 1 on all main meals every day. However the food is generally that poor that it would be worse if they gave you 3 for 1. Big car park and large pub. They don’t take bookings for parties of 4 and under. If you are feeling upbeat then go to the Springbrook and their food will quickly diminish your euphoria.

This is a hit and miss place for me.
The first time I went I had the steak and it was lovely.
The next time I went I had the steak expecting great things and it was awful.
The curry dish was abysmal!!!
3 small pieces of what looked like canned meat in a bowl of watery sauce. it was really that bad!
I complained to the waitress but she stone faced told me that their regulars liked their curry !
err. ok! so much for the customers always right.
The pub in general is lovely on the outside but very old fashioned on the inside. Big car park.
needs a revamp to modernize it really. I like the upstairs areas, feels nice and private up there.
Lots of older locals in the pub drinking glasses of sherry.
Relaxed atmosphere.
I also went to this pub on a psychic night for something different to do.
Total rip off as my reading was so far from the truth it was comical.
But its quite a novel idea for a night out, some curry soup, few glasses of expensive vino and a fiction based bedtime story to finish the night off ;-)

Whenever I go to the Springbrook I’m always reminded of the Harvester restaurant I used to visit as a child, its large capacity and hearty menu combining to make my visits consistently satisfying. The only thing I’d say is that due to its large size the service can sometimes be a little slow, however the staff are always friendly and willing to compensate a particularly long wait with some free drinks or side dishes. The all-​encompassing two for one deal always provides great value especially if you’re a ravenous youngster with a bottomless belly.
In terms of pub qualities the Spring Brook is a simple watering hole with only a large outdoor area to mark it as distinctive. The décor is exactly what you’d expect from such a well-​visited place: middle-​of-​the-​road and fairly unremarkable but certainly welcoming. I’d recommend the Springbrook for any special event or family meal where budget is an issue.
