A place that unashamedly professes itself on being Britain’s first colonial restaurant — but don’t let the negative connotations associated to colonialism put you off: this place offers a vintage-stamped time piece of interior design, evocking an age when the sun never set on Britain’s Empire, as well as a heady mix of Malaysian, Indian and Chinese cuisine. Plenty of spices and exotic recipes in a trendy looking joint all contribute to the appeal. I tried the Singapore Slings on a recommendation and didn’t regret it.
