The Saxon Mill

Great location with amazing view on a calm river. Good was also very good with à really quick service.

Saxon Mill is a great venue — they do tasty food which whilst a little pricey, reflects the quality of the venue and its enduring popularity. Fantastic place to drop in for an early evening drink on a sunny day as you can soak in the historic ambience. Definitely one of my favourite places.

I’ve always loved the Saxon Mill. Sadly this has changed and I will no longer be frequenting it. Food was superbly average on my last visit. Sharing platter exceptionally stingy. Served by an arrogant waitress (possibly the manager? — she was wearing different clothing) who could barely be bothered to take our order. Most disappointing.

Great location. Good Sunday roast… I had the lamb. Sticky toffee pudding was delicious.

This is a charming place. Located in an old mill, it is a delightful spot for a spring lunch or even more so, for a post work pint on the terrace. Most of my stars here are for ambiance and service. The food was quite good but not extra ordinary. That said I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it or for that matter, return to sample more of the fare.

Lovely pub just a little way out of Warwick. It’s nice to sit outside and watch the river. Good selection of food –and very good food too — but not many vegetarian mains. Good ales.
On a nice day, I’d recommend parking in Old Milverton and walking through the church yard and fields to the Saxon Mill. A lovely 10 minute or so walk.

In a country often shunned for its bland food and mustached women, I think this restaurant provides a pleasant break from the normal and expected.
They’ve got a very classic pub menu, but with a finer incline to things such as fresh (as opposed to canned) vegetables, a wine list (with wine on it, not horsepiss), and meats that are seasoned (instead of being over-​boiled in salt water).
Not a lot of covers, and I know they’ve turned people away even on week nights, so probably a good idea to book early. I really liked the baked Camembert for a starter, and the lamb for dinner. You’ve got to have lamb if you’re in this part of the country — really quite good.

Mein absolutes Lieblings-​Pub in UK. Das Pub befindet sich an einer alten Mühle an einem kleinen See. Die Inneneinrichtung ist eher modern bis stylisch. Die Getränkepreise sind ortsüblich. Das Essen ist sehr lecker, wenngleich auch recht teuer, aber man zahlt halt die Location mit.

Nice location. Service variable especially if sitting outside. Food pleasant, not great. Reasonably priced.

Great food but book at busy tes as it gets very busy.

A really lovely restaurant/​pub in a great location. Right in the countryside with lovely surroundings, it’s an amazing place to visit both in Summer and Winter. When the weather is nice and warm, it’s great to sit outside by the river sipping on a cool drink and enjoying a bite to eat. In wintertime, there’s nothing better than snuggling up on one of the comfy couches in front of the roaring log fire and enjoying a delicious pizza! The restaurant section is also really nice and is somewhere nice to come for a special occasion. The atmosphere is relaxed both in the pub and the restaurant, but it’s quite a ‘smart’ place. Prices are mid-​range to expensive but the food is excellent and definitely worth paying a bit more for.

Really nice place for food and drinks, relaxed atmosphere in a gorgeous location. Especially nice on a summers day to sit out by the mill overlooking the river. Food is very nice especially the pizza, sunday lunch is also very good. Recently attended a wedding here which was fantastic. Food is not the cheapest but very good value for the quality you get.

Had a number of lunches here, can probably only echo what’s been said already. Very consistent quality and a nice location — warm and cosy in the winter but the mill race and river views provide a nice alfresco backdrop for the warmer days of the summer.
Has never felt unduly busy, and it’s certainly relaxed, though might be advisable to book before going in the evening.

Brilliant place to spen a sunday afternoon and eat drink and generally relax. Its a walk or taxi from the town, but well worth it. Food fantastic. and what a building very impressive indeed.

This is a restaurant/​bar in Warwick.
It is quite pricy for food but delicious! And lovely for a special night out.
There are also beautiful walks nearby, I take my dog then have a hot chocolate by open fires, yes dogs are allowed in the bar part!
Highly recommend a visit here!
