Though people moan about the council, they do a lot of stuff to help clean up Tonbridge the Love Where You Live Campaign. However, they seem to allow junk food shops in Tonbridge and encourage extending their licences to the early hours where there is anti-social behavour, which is a detriment to the local community. There seems to be a two tiered policy. I think they just care about the money the junk food shop brings. Also there is a Wellingtonia tree that has a tree preservation order and they have allowed to have it chopped down to make way for several box like housing. This is not in keeping with the environment at all.
