We visited last week for a quick lunch. I have to say we were not disappointed. Firstly, all the regulars did not stop and gaze suspiciously upon some London folk as we walked in! The décor was clean and comfortable. Service was good. Despite it being a weekday there were several people in. The couple next to us were having an historic ploughman’s for two. We had fish and chips which were huge portions and which came promptly. The batter was great I recall and the Cod nice and flaky. Chips were crisp and dry(sounds like a product?) .The barman brought us a bowl of tartare sauce having seen us struggling with trying to open those blasted sachets-the most frustrating device known to man is how he described them-he’s not wrong there. A local asset in a very pleasant village.
