The Observatory

I already had a jaded view of my ‘local’ after having problems getting food and not feeling particularly welcome. Since leaving that review I have returned twice. The pub has a slight raised area which is the only seating area and is apparently labelled as «the dining area». I took my dog in there one evening after food service was finished (around 9pm) but was told I couldn’t sit with the dog there as it was a dining area… no-​one was eating… and there was nowhere else to sit except on a stool at the bar. The third time I visited I was sat at a «dining table» (without the dog) using an electronic cigarette and got told by the girl collecting glasses that I couldn’t use it in the pub and had to go outside. It seems that their rules have now pushed me out the door for good.
