I have dined there 6 times. Gianni has the best bruschetta, the best fried calamari, the best whitebait, the best coffee, the best pepper tuna steak and the best Cassata Siciliana ice cream. Also, very good is pizza and fried courgette. Other than the tables downstairs, there is also room upstairs if you want to dine more private. 4 Stars because last time we went the veal and the aubergine needed more cooking and was not as tasty as before. Another thing I don’t like is the supermarket bag instead of a liner in the toilet bin, the hand dryer which is not working and the towel(despite the fact it is clean– should have small towels for single use or rolling towel system).

An Easter filled with DIY, without water for 2 days. Not sure what to have for dinner, it’s already half past eight. Gianni’s takes our reservation without very much of a wait. We slip into decent clothes and head out to tempt fate. Gianni’s is a small eatery, 10 tables at the max, The menu is quite substantial to try to read it by the wax. We order two mains that look delicious, about £13 per pax. Along comes bread and olives, an unsuspecting £2 tax. The food was good, but not amazing, the service rather curt But the main guy is Italian, so I’m not going to feel hurt. All around a good evening, I won’t give it top cert, Just cuz ain’t much to dish both in good and both in dirt.
