Bargain Books has existed since well before I can remember. This branch is the Abbey Centre is great for buying children’s books or getting good deals on soppy romances or old thrillers. They often have offers on such as 3 for 2 or buy one get one free so if there’s a couple of titles you’re after you can buy a couple without having to break the bank. Although it’s not quite as up market as the likes of Easons or as well stocked as Waterstones, it does what is says on the tin, i.e. bargain prices for books, so you can’t expect much. Nowadays they also sell stationery, balloons, calendars, address books etc. This shop is great for picking up some chick lit, or detective stories if you’re off on your holidays and need some light reading for the plane. It is also very popular around Christmas time when people flock here to pick up stocking fillers. Not as good quality as its competitors, but certainly less expensive.
