Whitley Bay Library

Being unemployed for the past month i decided to visit my local library for the first time in 9years! Despite needing a refurb & a good lick of paint, whitley bay library still provides a great community service, with a good selection of books for both adults & children plus a decent range of dvd’s & cd’s that can be hired for a minimal fee. If you can’t find the find book you’re looking for the friendly helpful staff are more than happy to order it in for you at no extra cost. There is also newspapers, magazines, internet access & plenty of tables for reading or studying & a car park next door. A great public library, i only gave it 4 stars because of the disrepair of the building, north tyneside council pull your fingers out!

Despite looking past its sell by date the library continues to provide a wonderful community service which my kids adore and use all the time. The selection of childrens books is excellent, with regular new stock added. The library is due to move to somewhere else in teh Town while they build a new one, I would love for it to move permanently into the centre of time if only they could get disabled parking sorted somewhere close to the old Co-​Op it would be a wonderful site for it.

Wonderful local library with very helpful staff. Good range of books and internet access, as well as a large range of DVDs and CDs that can be borrowed. There are also a good range of magazines that can be read at the library, plus lots of tables if you need a space to read or study.
