The Longreach

I have had much better from Beefeater. the food was ok, but the Service wasn’t that good, wasn’t very appealling there, and didn’t even stay for
is due a refurb shortly as shown on the table notices, problem with this place is it’s attached to a Premier Inn, on a main road/​motorway, really not really a local’s pub so this shows with the attitude of the place. It’s ok The Southcote Reading Beefeater your Crown as being the best Beefeater is still intact, I won’t be heading back to this one anytime soon. ³⁄₁₀ overall

I don’t entirely understand all of the reviews. This place is a solid 3-​star restaurant. Don’t expect to get your socks rocked off, but it is sufficient in what it markets itself to be: a simple restaurant/​bar add-​on for the simple Premier Inn it’s attached to.
My bf and I grabbed a seat here while waiting for the coach bus back to London. We got ourselves two reasonably priced ciders and split a steak sandwich. The steak sandwich was somewhat more creative than what I would expect in a place like that, and while I didn’t like the chutney sauce (a personal preference), the bread, steak, and chips were well prepared and flavoured. Overall, I quite enjoyed the meal!
The service was friendly enough and the food was served within a reasonable amount of time. I think if you’re looking for something filling, recognizable, and a step away from all that seafood, this place would be sufficient.

Eat here often and we are always very pleased but this time today 07÷05÷12 we have had an astonishingly bad experience we ordered our food and waited over 40 mins the waitress disappeared in a nano second after putting down the food on the table our food was just bearly warm, i needed kechup and had to go walkabouts to find somebody to bring me some so my food was even colder, half our order had not arrived (drinks and onion rings) the waitress ignored us for over an hour normally they ask if everything is ok. I had salad in my burger which i asked for it to be left out, my man wanted more chips but the waitress walked by when i called to her (never did get our drinks and onion rings) in the end i spoke to the waitress and said where is the rest of our food she ignored the question and said would we like to see the sweet menu, we were shocked and said yes, so i complained to the manager and immediately offered us a refund we accepted but i tried to talk to her about our experience she walked away from me twice and we were made to feel very unwelcome. We feel we cannot go back to our favourite place to eat as the manager took the side of the waitress saying that she couldn’t have heard us properly and walked away from me again while i was in mid sentence abruptly saying that she was just to busy and that she had nothing more to say not even sorry?

Hi. I took my family of eight to the pub and restaurant on 08/10/11.the pub is well run and clean. friendly staff and quick service, we were called in for our table in good time by a very professional maitre De. the waitress was very attentive an efficientfood was well presented with adequate portionsmine and my sons steak was very chewy and sorry to say was inedible. I was ordered by my wife and son not to complain :), but a replacement would make both our meals out of time with the othersI e-​mailed the website twice without any replies .I intend to speak to the manager about it and expect a positive result so no real problem there (I will update).more of a heads up to the senior management to reply to their e-​mails.

The Longreach resturant is part of a Premier Inn franchise near Borstal Hill.
The resturant has a bar attatched, which also has its own bar menu and comfterble seating area.
The resturant has good seating, with large tables for groups. The menu is a mixture of british and british adapted food (e.g indian, burgers etc). The food is okay but nothing to write home about overall. This said the resturant is quite popular, especially at the weekend and on annual occasions (e.g mother’s day).
Pricewise the Longreach isn’t overally expensive but nor is it cheap for although portion sizes are good the quality is not overally impressive.
